This is perhaps the most common of all eating disorders. Usually involving the person to eat compulsively, but will neither be under weight or over weight.

A binge eater is also known as an 'emotional or comfort eater' and will
always have some preoccupation with body image, weight and size.

Binge eaters can also binge on specific types of foods which can lead to the development of an addictive food type such as chocolate or carbohydrates.

Here are some health consequences to binge eating:

  • High blood pressure
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • High cholesterol
  • Heart disease
  • Depression
